Trusted, local pest control
Salt Lake’s seasons are tough on homes. We know what gets through.
Surrounded by mountains and shaped by distinct seasons, Salt Lake City is a beautiful place to live — but it also presents unique challenges for keeping pests out of your home. From cold, snowy winters that drive rodents indoors to hot, dry summers that trigger ant and spider infestations, pests in the Salt Lake Valley are an ever-present concern. Whether you live in Sugar House, The Avenues, Rose Park, or near the foothills of Millcreek, no part of the city is immune.

What’s bugging Salt Lake
The four pests our Salt Lake inspectors see most.

Ants
Pavement ants and southern fire ants are common in St. George neighborhoods, especially those with irrigated lawns and rock-lined planters. These pests are known to build colonies near foundations and will invade kitchens and bathrooms in search of moisture.

Scorpions
Scorpions are a well-known issue in St. George, particularly in areas near undeveloped land or rocky outcroppings. The Arizona bark scorpion, one of the more dangerous species, is occasionally found in garages, under furniture, and inside shoes or bedding.

Wasps
Paper wasps and mud daubers often build nests under eaves, awnings, and backyard play structures. Their presence increases in late summer and can pose a serious risk to anyone with allergies or small children.

Rodents
Mice and pack rats are frequent invaders during cooler months. Homes in subdivisions near desert ridges or golf courses often experience rodent activity in garages, attics, and wall voids as pests seek out warmth and nesting material.
01
Professional products are for certified professionals
Most store bought chemicals don’t last and are not applied correctly. Buyers don’t understand the active chemicals and the right applications. Saela uses strict protocols and certified frameworks for long term success and safety.
02
Entry points are easy to miss
Older downtown homes have gaps around windows, crawlspaces, and foundations that aren’t visible without a trained inspection. DIY treats symptoms, not causes.
03
Infestations go deeper than you see
A few visible ants or spiders usually signal a larger problem behind the walls. Without expert tools and identification, most homeowners let it spread.

Frequently asked
Questions American Fork homeowners ask.
What pests are covered with Saela treatment?
Our Protection Program covers 29 of the most common types of household pests. Everything ranging from mice, voles, wasps, spiders, ants, silverfish, earwigs, centipedes, scorpions, and many other pests are covered in your plan.
Are there any guarantees or warranties on your services?
Pests are very persistent, and every home brings a unique challenge. However, Saela has you protected no matter what. If pest activity returns, you are covered by free warranty services. Just let us know, and we will quickly be back to make sure you are taken care of. We also guarantee that we will only use premium pest management products on your home.
Is your service a one-time treatment?
We do not offer a one-time service because it simply would not take care of your pests. A one-time pest control service might take care of the adult pests around, but what about in a few weeks when their eggs hatch? Or what about when the weather and sun break down applied products and new pests arrive? Pests are always adapting and trying to find shelter in and around your home, so a consistent protection plan is the only way to keep them away.
There’s rain in the forecast. Does your treatment still work if it rains?
Absolutely. We only use the highest quality products. Our products are designed so that rain or water won’t wash them away..
Is Saela Pest Control a legitimate business?
Yes! With over 3.4 million services performed nationwide, Saela has maintained an A+ BBB rating with the Better Business Bureau. In addition, we have Associate Certified Entomologists on staff, and all of our service specialists are accredited by the National Pest Management Association. Everyone undergoes background checks and continuous training to provide world-class service for all customers.
How often would you recommend pest control service appointments?
After your first service, we return in just four weeks to control the pests hatched from any eggs left behind. This disrupts the hatching cycle of pests. After these first two treatments, we’ll be back every eight weeks. Maintaining the pest “barrier” to your home is crucial. The initial barrier we apply should be renewed once every other month year-round to protect you and your home from pests. Consistency is key to pest control that works.
What does routine Saela service entail?
With your guidance, the service specialist will start by inspecting the problem areas you have noticed, followed by a thorough inspection of the rest of the property. After review, your certified tech will have a plan of action to spot-treat and apply the protective barrier required to protect your home from pests.
